HYDERABAD: On a day of high-voltage action that marked the launch of the three-day rail roko by Telangana agitators, the state government on Saturday toughened its posture not sparing even its own party MPs.Saturday ended on a mixed note - TJAC chairman professor Kodandaram called for a Telangana bandh on Monday protesting police action even as he announced withdrawal of strike by RTC employees keeping in view the inconvenience caused to the people.APSRTC buses will start operating from early on Sunday morning. Sticking to the warning given ahead of the rail roko stir, police took into custody hundreds of activists and almost all top ranking leaders of the TRS and Congress conveying its firm resolve to ensure movement of trains at any cost.Probably emboldened by the state government’s firm position, the south central railway began operating even those trains that were cancelled earlier.Congressmen, however, were apparently taken aback over the manner in which police did not spare even their own party MPs. Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, who was arrested while trying to participate in the rail roko, was sent to judicial remand sparking angry protests from fellow Parliamentarians.Late in the night, Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao and Nizamabad MP Madhu Yashki called on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and lodged their protest. Madhu Yashki went hammer and tongs at minister K Jana Reddy’s appeal to state government employees to call off their strike without bothering to talk to the chief minister about the arrest of Congress MPs.Kodandaram declared that RTC buses will be spared from Monday’s bandh in Telangana. He was, however, non-committal about other sections participating in the Sakkala Janula Samme.
