Court sends contempt notice to Gurjar leader Bainsla
Rajasthan HC had warned community against violent agitation.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday issued a contempt notice to Gurjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla for allegedly violating its order restraining the community leadership from taking law into their hands.

Justice Preme Shankar Asopa directed Bainsla to appear before the court on May 30 on a petition by the state government accusing him of violating the court's order of September 10, 2007.

The court asked the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and Director General of Police to explain what the government had done to prevent breakdown of law and order in the wake of the Gurjar agitation for Schedule Tribe quota.

Meanwhile, Bainsla has said that he respects the honorable court and will appear in the court to will divulge his communities grievance to the respected judges. If due to some circumstance, he is busy he will request the court to extend the date.

The Gurjars are agitating for Scheduled Tribe status which would enable them to get more reservation in government jobs and educational institutes.
