Chennai’s top brass, headed by Mayor Saidai Duraisamy and the Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan, held a meeting at the Chennai Corporation on Friday to prepare the city for the forthcoming rainy season.
Around 30 departments, including the Public Works Department, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Metro Water, Highways and the Police department among others, participated in the meet.
Various departments agreed to improve coordination during emergencies and a request was made for prior intimation during the release of excess water from the lakes and reservoirs. The meeting was convened early this year for thorough analysis of the work required to be carried out ahead of the rainy season, said the Mayor.
