Women's wing of the ruling Congress in Uttarakhand today held a 'Mahamrityunjaya Yagya' in Dehradun to pray for the speedy recovery of Chief Minister Harish Rawat.
He is being treated for a neck injury at AIIMS, New Delhi for over a fortnight. Led by Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sarojini Kaintyura and Mahanagar Congress Committee chief Kamlesh Raman, hundreds of women party workers participated in the Yagya held at Panchayati Mandir near Clock Tower Chowk in the city to pray for the Chief Minister's recovery.
Speaking on the occasion, Kaintyura said the Chief Minister's absence has slackened the pace of development in the state.
"People of Uttarakhand want the Chief Minister to recover fast and come back so that development could regain its lost momentum," she said.
