Congress, on Sunday, alleged that BJP and AAP had a "tacit" understanding for the upcoming Delhi assembly poll and were targeting it with false claims.
"We have information that AAP will project only such candidates which will cut into Congress' vote and help BJP in winning the election. There is a tacit understanding between the two parties," said Congress General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed at a rally in Ambedkar Nagar.
Accusing Arvind Kejriwal of colluding with BJP, Ahmed said the AAP convener has never said he would contest against BJP or its Chief Ministerial candidate.
"Kejriwal said he will fight election from the constituency where Sheila Dikshit will contest, but he never said he would contest against BJP.
"He could have said that he would contest from New Delhi. Why did he not say he will contest against BJP chief ministerial candidate?" said Ahmed.
Ahmed said another AAP candidate Kumar Vishwas took back his candidature from Krishna Nagar constituency after Harsh Vardhan's name was announced as BJP's nominee for top post from there.
"Vishwas, who is a singer and a poet, had earlier announced that he would contest from Krishna Nagar. But as soon as Vardhan's name was announced as chief ministerial candidate, he took his candidature back so that Vardhan does not face any problem in winning the election. This clearly shows their internal agreement," alleged Ahmed.
He said for the first time he is coming across such a claim where a person who left the Delhi Health Minister's post in 1998 is taking credit for polio eradication which only happened in 2009.
"When Vardhan left the health minister's post in 1998, 47 polio cases were reported that year. In 1999, when Congress government came, 73 police cases were reported and that trend of rising or decreasing cases were repeated in subsequent years. It was only in 2009, no cases were reported continued in 2011 and 2012," he said.
Taking pot shots at Narendra Modi, Ahmed said people of Delhi do not like "borrowed" players.
"BJP thinks they would form government in Delhi with the help of Modi, but they do not know people of Delhi do not like such players. Once they had brought Sushma Swaraj and people of Delhi chose Congress for 15 years," said Ahmed.
"BJP claims that they would implement Gujarat model in Delhi. In Gujarat per capita income is Rs 80,000 per year and in Delhi it is 2.01 lakh. So does it mean that income of Delhi's residents will be reduced, said Ahmed.
Rejecting Modi's development model, Ahmed said an RBI report had put the state at 12th position among 28 states in overall development.
