CM, Washington Governor sign MoU on cooperation

A statement of joint interest between Andhra Pradesh and Washington, USA was signed here at Jubilee Hall on Wednesday evening.

Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and governor of state of Washington Christine o. Gregoire signed the statement.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that selecting Andhra Pradesh as the partner and giving opportunity for trade and business would go a long way. He said A P had ‘a single window clearance system’ for investments. “It is not merely an exchange of business and trade, but also a reciprocity of culture and education,” he added. Reddy said, “We have a very progressive industrial group in all fields in the state. We have expanded not only in the country but all over the world.”

Washington governor said, “Investment in agriculture and IT have a bright future. Trade relations with India, particularly Andhra Pradesh, will go a long way. We (Washington) have in our state a massive hydel power and are number one in renewable energy, good education system with renowned universities,” she said.
