Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the seventh edition of the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) here on Thursday. More than 500 delegates from 48 countries, including the UK, Germany, France and Malaysia, are expected to attend the four-day meet, said Tourism
Minister A P Anil Kumar at a press conference here on Monday.
Over 1,700 Indian delegates have been registered for the same. Out of the total `10 crore outlay for the travel mart, the state government will contribute `1 crore.
Union Minister K V Thomas, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikkutty, Finance Minister K M Mani, Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, KTM society president Riaz Ahmed, Tourism Secretary Suman Billa and director Rani George will attend the inaugural function at 6.30 pm at Hotel Le Meridien. Tourism Minister Anil Kumar will preside over the function.
“There is an increased flow of domestic and foreign tourists to the state. A 21-member delegation from Ukraine is expected to attend the travel mart. Following the tourism road show, there is good response from the East European countries,” the Minister said.
The meet will have sessions on responsible tourism, technological advancements and other similar topics. Around 2,000 buyers and 370 sellers are expected to attend the meet.
