CHENNAI: Two more persons among the 13 Indians, who perished in a plane crash at Nepal, were identified as Chennai residents on Tuesday taking the death toll from the city to three.They were identified as V Udayagiri Gopi (57) and V Sornalakshmi (52) of Mogappair West. According to Sornalakshmi’s nephew Kishan, the couple commenced their pilgrimage on Tuesday and were on their way to Mukinath in Nepal, when the plane crashed.Gopi was earlier involved in the gold jewellery business and the couple did not have any children. “He retired and settled here. They are very nice people,” recalled a visibly upset Kishan, son of Sornalakshmi’s brother, Kishore.The engineering student said his aunt and uncle last spoke to his father two days before they were identified as victims of the crash. “We don’t even have their photographs. They took all the documentary proof with them.” D Kavitha, who runs an English coaching centre in a three-storeyed building owned by the couple, said both Gopi and Sornalakshmi, who would often invite their tenants for pujas in their house, even informed that they were leaving on a 15-day trip. “I have been here only for six months. They were friendly with us. They would often conduct pujas at home and invite us. We got to know the news only on Tuesday morning,” said Kavitha.Sreekanth StableThe condition of TK Sreekanth, the husband of crash victim Latha, who was admitted to a hospital in Pokhra with head injury, was said to be stable. “He is stable and the children are now okay. They are still in hospital,” said Latha’s brother-in-law Sreenivasan.
