Chopper deal: CBI team to meet Italian judge today
The team is also set to meet the AgustaWestland management and its parent company Finmeccanica later in the day.

New Delhi: A joint team of officials from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Defence Ministry and the Foreign Ministry, who are in Italy, will meet judge Luca Labianca on Wednesday who is presiding over the case. However, they will not be meeting the prosecutor.

The team is also set to meet the AgustaWestland management and its parent company Finmeccanica later in the day. The team reached Italy on Tuesday and was briefed by Indian embassy officials.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister AK Antony has said that the government will not tolerate any corruption in defence deals and has also questioned the need to import defence equipments.

The Rs 3600 Italian chopper deal was discussed during the meeting and India conveyed strong concerns over the allegations, PM Manmohan said. "I conveyed to Prime Minister Cameron that we have very serious concerns regarding allegations about unethical means used in securing 2010 contract for AgustaWestland choppers," he told reporters.
