COIMBATORE: A police inspector, posted in Chennai at present, has been stripped of the Chief Minister’s Police Medal awarded to him in 2008, following his suspension from service.Inspector B Senthilkumar was presented the CM’s Medal for Excellence in Investigation during the Independence Day celebrations in 2008. A few months ago, he was suspended from service under Rule 3(b) of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Service Rules. As a senior police official said, “This rule is invoked when someone absents himself for a longer duration without notice to superiors.”
