HYDERABAD: After verifying documents that were seized during searches, the Central Bureau of Investigation  suspects the role of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi in the issuance of some government orders in favour of various companies which invested in YS Jaganmohan Reddy's firms. The CBI on Thursday sought the permission of the special CBI court to question Srilakshmi on various government orders in connection with Jagan Mohan Reddy's alleged illegal assets case.  Later, magistrate B Naga Maruthi Sharma posted the hearing on the plea to Friday. The investigation agency, which is probing the alleged illegal assets case of Jaganmohan Reddy, believes that when Srilakshmi was secretary of industries, she had issued some government orders, allegedly in favour of Penna Cements and Dalmia Cements, which directly invested in Jagati Publication Limited and Bharathi Cements owned by Jaganmohan Reddy.“The CBI needs to question Y Srilakshmi and VD Rajagopal regarding issue of some government order in favour of Penna Cements and Dalmia Cements. We obtained information through documents which were seized in the raids. Now, we need to cross-check the information by questioning Srilakshmi and Rajgopal,” CBI’s counsel pleaded with the court.Srilakshmi and Rajagopal are in the Chanchalguda central prison after their arrest by the CBI for their alleged involvement in illegal mining by Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC), which is owned by former Karnataka minister  Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy.
