HYDERABAD: A writ petition was filed in the High Court Thursday by veteran journalist ABK Prasad and V Vijay Sai Reddy seeking the court’s direction to the CBI to take up consequential investigation into the MoU/sale/agreement of lands done at “unconscionably low prices and in a non-transparent manner” entered into by the previous TDP government under N Chandrababu Naidu with IMG Bharata Academies Private Limited. The scribe noted that the present petition was necessitated as they could not place before the court the information secured under the RTI Act. They appealed that the court direct the Union home secretary for extending the jurisdiction of the CBI to investigate into the subject matter covered by the state government’s GO 310 dated Dec 13, 2006. The government had signed an MoU in Aug 2003 for transfer of 855 acres of land. As part of it, about 400 acres was given at `50,000 per acre at Kancha Gachibowli village as against the market value of `3 crore per acre and the remaining 450 acres of government land was sold at `25,000 per acre at Mammidipalli village as against the then market value of `1 crore an acre.
