HYDERABAD: The CBI is on the trail of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to serve summons on him issued by the special court for CBI cases in the case related to the MP’s alleged illegal assets. The MP is busy electioneering for his party’s candidate in the Yemmiganur Assembly constituency in Kurnool district. CBI sleuths have been waiting for over a day for an opportunity to meet the young MP when he is not surrounded by too many supporters to serve the summons. A team of CBI officials from Hyderabad left for Kurnool and are following the convoy of Jagan who has been touring the district for the last two days. The MP has been touring Nandavaram, Allahalari and other rural places in Kurnool district and is attracting large crowds en route. CBI officials, to avoid any trouble from Jagan’s supporters, are waiting for a chance to meet him in the absence of too many people, sources said.Jagan entered Yemmiganur town on Sunday evening and addressed a public meeting. Later, he will be camping in a private accommodation on the outskirts of the town and sources said the CBI team would serve the summons during the night or early hours of Monday.A couple of days ago the court took cognizance of the first charge sheet filed by the CBI in the assets case and issued summons. Those who received summons can attend the court personally or through their counsel but Jagan said he would appear in court.Meanwhile, sources said the process of serving summons to the other accused is on. “We collected the summons from the court two days ago,’’ officials said.
