ANANTAPUR: A team of CBI officials who are probing into the land allocation to Penna Cements in the district, are reportedly suspecting the role of the mandal revenue officials in the land allotments against norms. They are learnt to have come to a conclusion that the assigned lands in Yadiki mandal were allocated to Penna Cements with the help of mandal revenue officials.The CBI sleuths questioned Yadaki tahsildar Yellamma, VRO Pulla Reddy and Janardhan Reddy along with farmers Bheema Rao, G Peddaiah, Y Peddaiah, Pedda Obaiah and others since Friday. They believe that the assigned lands of farmers were acquired by the revenue officials using pressure tactics. Sources said farmers have also confirmed that though they were not ready to part with their land, the revenue officials pressured them. The CBI officials had also questioned farmers in Boyareddypalle and Kamalapadu villages.
