BANGALORE: In the last part of the series on preparing for CAT 2011, the article focuses on the last minute tips for CAT 2011. Abhishek Jha, of learnhub says in CAT most of the questions have four options and one should never make the mistake of attempting the questions without looking at options first. Many a times one can eliminate most of the options on the basis of logic and common sense thus solving the problem without attempting, and saving a lot of time. With practice one can actually be ahead of other students while attempting the exam. The key to solving CAT remains speed and accuracy, which can be perfected only via practicing and taking lot of mock tests.Ajay Arora of TIME advises, “Go into the exam with an open mind and expect the unexpected. Prepare yourself mentally to wait. One should have spent close to two and a half hours at the test centre before actually starting the test. Spend about two   minutes in understanding the layout and scanningthe paper. The examinee should begin with his/her strongest section and attempt the weakest section in the middle. Do not spend more than three minutes on a question. Keep a buffer of 15 minutes. These 15 minutes could be spent either on your strongest section (to enhance your total percentile) or on your weakest section (to ensure that you meet cut off requirements). The student should focus on accuracy rather than speed. Most importantly one should ignore all rumours and focus on what he/she need to do.”
