Call to save education sector

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The education scenario in India is facing decay. It is time those in the field did an introspection and try to revive the education sector, said Prof B Hridayakumari. She was inaugurating the Teachers’ Day programme hosted by the Kerala University Centre for Gandhian Studies and Noorul Islam University at the University Senate Chamber the other day. ‘Guruvandanam’, a programme to honour yesteryear teachers of the University, was held on the occasion. Kerala University Vice-Chancellor A Jayakrishnan inaugurated the ‘Guruvandanam’.
