BHUBANESWAR: The alleged stepmotherly attitude of the Centre towards the State will be a major issue at the extended executive body meeting of the Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) scheduled for July 12 here.
The meeting will be inaugurated by Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik. This will be first executive body meeting of the youth body after its reorganisation. The membership drive of the BJD will be intensified to counter the Youth Congress which has launched enrolment of members. A special programme will be launched to intensify the membership enrolment of the party.

The ensuing panchayat election in February next year will be discussed at the meeting. Sources said the BYJD will seek more tickets in the local elections compared to last time. Both the Opposition political parties _ the Congress and the BJP _ have decided to increase the number of young candidates in the election.

State BYJD officebearers, presidents of 34 organisational districts and 10 officebearers from each of the district will attend the meeting, BYJD president Sanjay Dasburma said.
