BHUBANESWAR: The Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) has decided to organise Sankalpa Kranti Samabesh in Cuttack on August 9 to protest the ‘step-motherly’ attitude of the Centre towards Orissa. The meeting will be inaugurated by Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik. Several leaders of the regional party will attend the meeting. The meeting is also aimed at boosting participation of youths in the development process of Orissa started under the leadership of the Chief Minister, BYJD president Sanjay Dasburma said. The rally in Cuttack is being organised after AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Orissa on July 13 and 14 during which he interacted with youths at several places. A preparatory meeting for the rally was held on Sunday to make it a success. Senior Ministers Prafulla Chandra Ghadei, Pradip Maharathi, Anjali Behera, several party MPs and senior leaders attended. Active BYJD members from each panchayat of Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Puri, Khurda and Nayagarh will attend the meeting. BYJD office-bearers from other districts will also attend the meeting.
