New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday extended the judicial custody of Bahujan Samaj Party MP Dhananjay Singh and his wife till December 30 in connection with the murder of their maid in the national capital on November 5.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gomati Manocha, however, allowed Dhananjay Singh to sign on the letterhead related to disbursement of MP Local Area Development funds.
The application was moved by his counsel JS Bhasin.
Dhananjay Singh, who represents the Jaunpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, was arrested and booked for destroying evidence and violating provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
His wife Jagriti was booked for murder, attempt to murder and for violating the Juvenile Justice Act after the maid died of injuries suffered as a result of alleged torture.
