Washington: Suave superspy James Bond, could soon be leaving fans both 'Shaken and Stirred' with his choice of drink.
The upcoming Casino Royale may see the British super-spy dropping his exclusive taste for vodka martinis and instead pitch for a pint of beer.
"A dry Martini," he said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet." "Oui, Monsieur." "Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large slice of lemon-peel. Got it?" (CASINO ROYALE, 1953)
The producers of the 007 franchise have reportedly signed a lucrative deal with Dutch brewing giant Heineken, reports Contactmusic.
Casino Royale was the first Bond book written by Ian Fleming and will now be the only one in which Bond drinks beer.
'Shaken, not stirred' is a famous, perhaps clichéd, catch phrase of, James Bond and his preference for how he wished his martini prepared. It was first uttered in the films by Sean Connery in Goldfinger in 1964 and was used in most Bond films thereafter.
