Black Flags greet Kalikesh

SONEPUR: Balangir MP Kalikesh Singhdeo who visited the flood-affected areas in Sonepur district with Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, was greeted with black flags over the proposed Sindol hydro power project.Reports said after they flew in at Royal Padia here, they were greeted by BJD supporters.Later the MPs visited various areas before Panda flew back to Bhubaneswar.However, when Singhdeo visited Tikripada, which continues to be in the grip of flood water for the last three days, hundreds of supporters of the Opposition parties including Sindol Prakalpa Birodhi Manch and Koshali Ekata Manch waved black flags and raised slogans asking him to go back.They demanded dropping of the Sindol project and urged Singhdeo to raise the issue of separate statehood for western Orissa.
