In the quest to be the best, students from India, Pakistan, SriLanka and Nepal competed at the grand finale of the South Asia Finals of Horlicks Wizkids 2011 by Krayon at the Jnana Jyoti Auditorium today. Impressing the eminent jury comprising noted singer Benny Dayal, winner of the I AM She’- Miss Asia Pacific India World 2011 Tanvi Singla, P Krishnakumar, Executive Director of Marketing, Dell India and industrialist Dilip Patel with their confidence and extraordinary talent on stage, four students from Hyderabad, Kolkata, Vizag, and Jamshedpur earned the coveted title of the Horlicks Wizteam 2011. The winners will get an opportunity to go for a learning program to The United Nations in Geneva and a scholarship worth four lakhs. The following students emerged as winners of the WizTeam 2011 are Varsha Gandikota from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Hyderabad; Chandraneev Das from Lakshmipat Singhania Academy, Kolkata; Mallampalli Parinita from Viksha Valley School, Vizag and Trianka Mitter from Carmel Junior College, Jamshedpur.The theme for this year’s fiesta, ‘Generation Taller, Stronger, Sharper’, clearly reflects the aspirations of the students to become the best in everything they do. This theme encourages students to think beyond the conventional and explore their full potential. The Grand Finale was preceded by four days of rigorous training sessions, talent rounds, project presentations, psychometric tests and many other fun, learning and recreational activities at the Ancient School of Wisdom. The students were also evaluated on the social project undertaken by them in their respective cities in the last three months. The event drew an overwhelming response from the students across the four countries. At the city finals stage, more than 1.5 lakh students from more than 1200 schools participated in the event to display their unique talent.“Horlicks Wizkids has been extremely popular with children and is an event that they look forward to every year making it a continued success. Horlicks Wizkids by Krayon is South Asia’s largest interschool fiesta with over 30 electrifying, enjoyable literary, art, talent and cultural events for students from class one to twelve. It has successfully been running since last 8 years and has become the biggest platform for children to come forward and showcase their ability and confidence to express their views and talent. Due to this long standing relationship, Horlicks Wizkids has acquired a strong equity among the school children over the years.
