New Delhi: Actor Pitobash Tripathy, best known for films like 'Shor In The City' and 'Shanghai', stated in an interview that how 'cricket is similar to baseball'. The actor was speaking at the premiere of 'Million Dollar Arm', Hollywood venture in which Pitobash plays a significant role.
With a newly acquired accent which made him roll his 'r' a bit more than usual, Pitobash explained that how while working in the film, he started understanding baseball. "When I was signing the film, I just knew there was a game called baseball," Tripathy explained to the reporter. " Once I signed the film, our training starts...we start reading about it, you know, understanding the game...I mean if you ask me completely, the A to Z of the game I don't know, but now I understand and enjoy the game," said the actor.
When the reporter asked about cricket, the actor said, "I am from India; people love two things Bollywood and cricket. I whorrk in Bollywood and I loves cricket. But ya, when I understand the baseball game, it's quite similar to cricket and now I enjoy baseball like cricket, you know," added Tripathy.
The actor along with actors Madhur Mittal (Slumdog Millionaire) and Suraj Sharma (Life Of Pi) features in the Disney film about a American sports agent who comes to India in search of baseball players. Actor Jon Hamm, who is best known for his role in 'Mad Men', plays the lead role in the film.
The Indian-American collaboration has music by AR Rahman and has been directed by Craig Gillespie.The film will be releasing in theaters on May 16th.
