Bail to Kani: Cheer muted among DMK workers

CHENNAI: Maybe rains played spoilsport, celebrations by DMK cadre over the granting of the long-awaited bail to their MP K Kanimozhi turned out to be muted. While they set off crackers at one or two places, Anna Arivalayam, the party headquarters, wore a deserted look.It took a couple of hours after the news came in for a handful of partymen to buy and distribute sweets to oblige waiting photographers. “It was brought to our notice that little was done at the Head Quarters, so we came to show our support. This is a ray of hope at a time when we are being targeted and cornered by forces that have been oppressing us for ages,” said R Ramesh, who took part in the token celebration.
