EROOR: So near, yet so far.  The Vyttila Mobility Hub is just two kilometre from Eroor. But the people have to travel 20 kilometre to reach the hub now, as the shortest route is not easily negotiable. The residents of Eroor are facing problems for reaching the Vyttila Mobility Hub following the delay in the widening of Kanniyampuzha Road that connects Eroor and Vyttila. “There was a proposal for widening the road. But it is pending before the State Government,” said Tripunithura Municipal chairman R Venugopal. As the widening of the road has not taken place, the people have to cover around 20 km through the congested traffic in Tripunithura to reach the hub. Tripunithura Rajanagari Union of Residents Association Chairman K P Prasad said that it was a long-pending demand of the residents of Eroor. The existing road is narrow and travel on this stretch is hazardous,” he said. “Buses are avoiding the route owing to continuous traffic blocks,” said V C Jayendran, a resident of Eroor who is working in FACT. “The distance from Eroor Vyttila through the Kanniyampuzha Road is just two kilometres. The residents can use this road to reach the hub, instead of using the traffic-congested route through Tripunithura. Moreover, people can save nearly an hour,” he said. Prasad said that the development of Kanniyampuzha road would be more beneficial to the traffic in the city. “If the road is connected with Seaport-airport Road, the traffic from Nedumbhasery to Muvattupuzha will be easier and also it can bring down the traffic congestion in the Tripunithura area,” he said.
