BANGALORE: An one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl died after she fell from second floor of a building while playing. The incident was reported at Sampige Layout in Vijayanagar police station limits. Vandhana, the victim, fell down from a height of about 50 feet. According to the police, Chidananda Kumar, victim’s father, had gone out for work while the girl was at home with her mother. Around 1.45 pm, her mother was working in the kitchen, when Vandhana, crossed the doors of the house and was playing in the passage in front of the house. While playing, the baby accidentally fell through the grills. Hearing her scream, Vandhana’s mother came out to see her one-and-a- half-year-old daughter lying in a pool of blood on the road. Immediately, Vandhana was shifted to a nearby hospital. She succumbed in the night, the police added.A post mortem was conducted at Victoria Hospital mortuary on Sunday and the body was handed over to her parents. Vijayanagar police have registered a case in this regard.
