HYDERABAD: The condition of Ayazuddin, son of former cricketer Azharuddin, who was grievously injured in a road mishap, continues to be critical.A medical bulletin issued in the evening by Apollo Hospital said Ayazuddin has remained unconscious and his neurological status (following hypoxia due to cardiac arrest prior to arrival at the hospital) continues to be a cause of grave concern. He is being continuously monitored by a multi-specialty team round-the-clock. “He had continuous bleeding from the injury to the left kidney and left nephrectomy was performed on this on Tuesday morning. His vital parameters are being maintained with supports and he continues to be on the ventilator. His status remains to be critical,’’ the bulletin said. Hospital sources said that Ayazuddin is totally dependent on medical support as his heart stopped functioning nearly four times after he was admitted to the hospital and the doctors revived it. “When heart stops functioning, there is no blood supply for other organs. If this continues and there is no blood supply to the brain, the brain cells die,’’ they said.
