Melbourne: Police in the Australian state of Victoria were looking for two men involved in the attack on an Indian taxi driver in Richmond, a media report said on Friday.

Vadbhag Singh, 24, was threatened by a man with scissors inside a taxi in Hollick Street on July 24, ABC Online reported.

The attacker demanded cash and a GPS unit and repeatedly punched Singh when he refused.

"The driver kept driving trying to work his way to the Richmond Police Station, he didn't know the area that well," said Detective Senior Constable, Dean Higgins.

"The male in the backseat behind him has constantly hit him, put his finger in his mouth and used what appears to be a pair of scissors, or half a pair of scissors and cut him several times," Higgins said.

Vadbhag Singh says his taxi was not fitted with a security screen at the time of the attack.
