KOCHI: The Attakatha ‘Aswathama’, written by Kalamandalam Kesavan, was staged at Changampuzha park, Edappally. The programme was presented with the help of the Ministry of Culture - New Delhi, under the auspices of Edappally Kathakali Aswadaka Sadass.Kalamandalam Ramakrishnan, who played the key role of Aswathama, portrayed the internal struggle of the central character. While adhering to the techniques of Kathakali, the artist raised it to the heights of a universal art form.Kalamandalam Sreekumar, FACT Padmanabhan and RLV Radhakrishnan donned the roles of Bhima, Krishna and Panchali respectively. Biju Bhaskar played the dual roles of Arjuna and Dhrustadumna. Kalamandalam Rajendran and Kalanilayam Babu provided music support for the play.
