New Delhi: Finding life inside Tihar Jail a trifle difficult, Asif Balwa, the cousin of Swan Telecom promoter and key beneficiary of 2G spectrum scam Shahid Usman Balwa, on Tuesday moved the Delhi High Court pleading to have a cooler, home-made food and an I-pad inside the prison.
Asif, one of the directors of Balwa's D B Realty group firm Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd, also pleaded to the court to allow him to carry an I Pad having digital version of the CBI charge sheet against him.
On Balwa's plea, Justice S Muralidhar issued notices to CBI, Delhi government and the Tihar Jail authority seeking their replies by Wednesday.
"Permit the petitioner (Balwa) to carry an I Pad containing the chargesheet in a digitised electronic form in the jail premises," said Balwa's application filed through advocate Gurpreet Singh.
Balwa's application also said "he be allowed to use cooler inside the jail at his own expenses."
The corporate executive, arrested for his role in facilitating the transfer of a sum of Rs 200 crore to DMK's party-owned television channel Kalaignar TV through his firm in a circuitous manner, also sought the court's permission
to have home-made food inside the jail.
