BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday directed the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to appoint an eligible person as the Managing Director (MD) to the Federation.Hearing a petition filed by Ramalingegowda, the Managing Director, KMF, who was suspended due to several charges against him, Justice H V G Ramesh directed the KMF to handover charge of MD immediately to the next eligible person.Ramalingegowda, who had filed a petition challenging his suspension, had stated that his suspension is illegal and arbitrary, as there is no concurrence of National Dairy development Board and the Union Government and had challenged the appointment of a new MD.He had stated that under Section 29 (g) of KMF act, there can be only one MD.His petition was allowed. However, folowing some of the board resolutions against him dated August 17, 2011, the petitioner had moved an application seeking resolution pertaining to the appointment of MDs and the resolutions affecting Ramalingegowda be stayed.
