New Delhi: Much awaited Kannada film 'Anna Bond' hits the screens today. The film stars Puneeth Rajkumar and Priyamani in the lead roles. Directed by Duniya Soori, the film has a budget of Rs 12 crore. The film also features Jackie Shroff in a pivotal role.
Puneeth and Duniya Soori are familiar with each other's working style as they have earlier worked on 'Jackie' (2010). The film was a commercial success.
A good part of the film is shot in Bangalore, Coorg and Kanakapura, while the songs are filmed in Spain and Malaysia.
The songs of the film are already a hit with the audiences. Some of the songs are penned by Jayant Kaikini, a well known poet and lyricist in the Kannada film circuit.
For the first time, Puneet Rajkumar will be seen flaunting his six pack abs on the screen. The actor is said to have undergone a rigorous fitness training to develop a new look for the film.
The heroine of the film Priyamani needs no introduction in the Southern film fraternity as she has acted in films such as 'Eno Onthara', 'Raam', and 'Kho Kho' in the past. She plays a documentary filmmaker in 'Anna Bond' who works in villages to spread knowledge about the superstitions.
Puneeth Rajkumar is known for films which show him in a pro people avatar. This time again, he will be expected to cash on the same image, however, the audiences have also become smart now, so the makers would be under pressure to come up with a good product.
