New Delhi: Shape up for the Delhi Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah told his colleagues during a meeting at the party headquarters in the national capital on Thursday. Talking tough to party leaders in Delhi, Shah directed them to go all out and ensure BJP's win the elections.
While a team of 120 BJP MPs have been tasked with overseeing party workers and ensure booth-level management, Shah is unhappy with the work done by Delhi leaders. He asked them to give their 100 per cent in the last leg of campaigning.
The party has decided to hold BJP to hold 250 big and small rallies in the next few days. Top BJP leaders like Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar are already campaigning in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj cancelled her rally in the national capital just a few hours after Subrahmanyam Jaishankar took over as Foreign Secretary after his predecessor Sujatha Singh was sacked late on Wednesday night.
Taking on Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal head on, the BJP will ask him five question every day. Eight Cabinet ministers will address press conferences over the next eight days where they will question Kejriwal's plans for Delhi.
"Our ministers will ask questions to Kejriwal till February 6. We will ask Kejriwal about sting operations as well," said Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay.
BJP has also decided against releasing a manifesto for Delhi and instead said that there will be only a vision document for the national capital. In a bid to woo the women voters BJP's CM candidate Kiran Bedi has made a 25-point programme to ensure their safety.
