Washington: Indian brains in US are shining bright not just in Silicon valley but in many American households.

Thousands of American students are turning to tutors overseas, including India.

Tutors from far and away help American kids get better grades in exams and boost scores in competitive examinations.

It makes education the newest industry to be outsourced to foreign countries.

But educational outsourcing has also sparked a fierce response from local teachers and other critics who argue that some companies are using unqualified overseas tutors to

increase their profit margins.

The US demand for overseas tutors is creating a thriving industry in Asia. About 80 per cent of India's USD 5 million online tutoring industry is focused on students in the US.

And given the math and science talent in India the country is natural magnet.

Low-paid workers in India sew the clothes, process medical bills and answer computer queries. And now teach American children. The vibrant Indian market is spreading everywhere.

But it has become a point of fierce criticism among the educational circles in US. They feel that tutoring companies’ only bottom-line is profit margin.

What's your reaction?
