KOCHI: Palliative care is the major consolation for the unfortunate few who have lost all hopes in medical science, said Hibi Eden MLA.He was inaugurating the World Hospice & Palliative Care Day celebrations at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS). The event also marked the 10th anniversary of the palliative home care at AIMS. Actor Meera Nandan inaugurated the new palliative care unit for patients suffering from diseases other than cancer.Swami Poornamrithanandapuri, general secretary, Mata Amrithanandamayi Math; Dr Prathapan Nair, Principal, AIMS; Dr Ramkumar P, Head of Pain and Paliative Department; Radhakrishna Menon, secretary, Ernakulam District Consortium Paliative Care; and Dr Sanjeev K Sinha, Medical Superintendent also participated in the event.
