An all-girls band that represented the Women's Christian College emerged winners at the acoustic competition organised by the International Justice Mission (IJM). Another individual band called Terrorist won the second place. The competition marked the culmination of the nine-day long campaign against child labour called Bonded Labour: Freedom Denied by IJM. Over 10 music bands both individual and from different colleges participated in the competition and performed songs on the theme 'freedom'.While some of them staged their own songs, others chose to take the easy way out and performed covers of other popular bands. The performances were judged by Samcy Philip from Octet Cantabile and Divyan Varghese from Rusty Moe. The competition was followed by a performance by Blue Conscience. IJM conducted various events as part of the campaign to create an awareness about child labour.
