BERHAMPUR: Two persons of Kabisuryanagar block have tested positive for dengue while seven samples tested positive for chikungunya. They have been identified as Bhagaban Mohanty (41) and Udayanath Mohanty (62).In the last fortnight, over 50 persons in villages of Kabisuryanagar block were affected by an unknown disease. It had started in S Nuapalli village in Gangapur panchayat of the block.As chikungunya was suspected, blood samples were sent for test. Basant Kumar Dash, a doctor of the Kabisuryanagar hospital confirmed that two were found positive for dengue. Both Bhagaban and Udayanath have been admitted to MKCG Medical, Berhampur.Ganjam Collector Kishen Kumar has, meanwhile, directed the health officials to camp at Nuapalli village and initiate measures on a war footing to contain its spread. He added that a medical team is camping at Nimina village under Aska block where several persons also are suffering from an unknown disease.
