50 trees uprooted due to heavy downpour

BANGALORE: The city witnessed heavy downpour on Monday night. Around 50 trees were uprooted due to rain that lashed for more than two hours. Vehicular movement was thrown out of gear in some parts of the city during the rain.
According to Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) control rooms, around 15 trees were uprooted in JP Nagar alone and more than 10 trees fell down in BTM Layout. Tree falls were also reported in Kamakshipalya, Indiranagar, Uttarahalli, Koramangala, Padmanabhanagar, Kumara Swamy Layout, Banashankari and other areas.
