5 members of Inter-state robber gang arrested

HYDERABAD: Madhapur police on Saturday arrested five members of a notorious inter-state gang involved in various offences in Cyberabad limits. Police recovered two pistols, three tapanchas with ammunition, one dagger, one chaap, stolen Indica (AP 23 G 9006).During an ealier incident, the gang members had opened fire on Madhapur police and escaped from Kondapur junction on October 5. However, one of the gang members, said to be the kingpin, one Talla Ravi was arrested.Police said the arrested members are part of a ten-member gang. The arrested are- Mohammed Liaq, Mohammed Sameer, native of Medak, Syed Abbubakar Siddique, native of Bidar, Mohhammed Inayat Ali, native of Zaheerabad and Mohammed Dilshan, native of Uttar Pradesh. Ravi's brother-in-law Rajesh Yadav, wife Priya, Riyaz and Nagaraju are still absconding.Cyberabad police commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said they initially stole an Indica car and thereafter changed its number plates. Then they selected places where there is huge cash movement and tried to commit robbery using the stolen car. The gang was involved in four offences at Shilparamam, Hafeezpet, Kondapur and Madhapur.A few cases have been already registered against the members, police said.
