VIJAYAWADA: Five Bhavanis, who were on their way to conclude their deekshas at Kanaka Durga temple, died on Saturday when a mini van they were travelling rammed into a stationary lorry on NH5 in Krishna district on Saturday. 10 other passengers were also injured. The mishap occurred at around 3.30 am when the driver of the over-speeding van lost control and rammed the vehicle into a parked lorry near Kodurpadu village. The driver died on the spot. The deceased include Korada Chandra Rao (45), his wife Venkatalakshmi (40), son Swamy (22), granddaughter K Bhuvanesawri (6) and his neighbour Mamidi Babulu (40).
