As many as 25,000 vacant police constable posts will be filled soon and police sub-inspectors be given gazetted rank, DGP V Dinesh Reddy said here on Saturday.
“The state government is according highest priority to the welfare of the police personnel. A 50-bed super specialty hospital for policemen will come up at Hyderabad on par with corporate facilities,” Dinesh Reddy said while addressing police personnel after inaugurating a modern police canteen here built on the lines of the Armed Services.
“While the promotional avenues are being increased by modifying the existing rules, all head constables on completion of three years in service will be considered for promotion as assistant sub-inspectors,” he said.
“The police canteen would prove to be a boon to the families of policemen as all the household articles and other provisions, including two-wheelers, will be available for sale with a tax rebate,” the DGP said.
