HYDERABAD: The Board of Intermediate Education is planning to announce results of advanced supplementary exams before June 7, to ensure early completion of Eamcet counselling. Addressing a press conference regarding preparations of the exam here on Wednesday, BIE secretary M Subrahmanyam said the junior intermediate exam will commence on March 2 and the second year exams on March 3 and exams conclude on March 21.The number of candidates appearing this year will be about 19.5 lakh, an increase of 59,000 from last year. The board has decided to form a high-powered committee to oversee the arrangements. “We will also deploy flying squads comprising officials from various departments and sitting squads at sensitive and problematic centres to check on malpractices,” Subrahmanyam said.He also requested the electricity department to provide power supply without any interruption during the exam period and the district medical and health officers to provide medical aid to students at exam centres.The secretary said the regional joint directors and district vocational educational officers will supervise as exam observers along with officers from BIE head office in Hyderabad. “Criminal cases will be registered against candidates resorting to copying or malpractice or impersonation and they will be debarred from the examinations,” Subrahmanyam said. He also said since they are uploading photos and signatures online, some errors may crop up in photos or signatures in hall tickets and thus principals should bring such cases to the notice of BIE for rectification.
