BANGALORE: The North Division police have solved 147 cases and arrested 108 persons. Stolen properties worth Rs 2.05 crore have been recovered from the arrested.The Peenya police have arrested Eshwar alias Eshwarachari (29), Mahesh (27) and Venugopal alias Anand (35) for allegedly robbing lonely women on the pretext of dropping them.They allegedly picked lonely women, who were waiting for buses during nights, in their car and took them to isolated places and robbed them of their valuables at knife point.Four hundred grams of jewels worth `11 lakh and a car have been recovered from them. Six cases have been solved with their arrest.Meanwhile, Malleswaram police have arresred Sunil Kumar, Satishkumar alias Seesh, Karate Seena and Munikrishna alias Narasimha for allegedly committing house thefts.Five hundred grams of gold jewels and 400 grams of silver ornaments worth `10.25 lakh have been recovered from them, thus solving six cases.In another case, they have arrested Phalaksha Kumar, Yogesh alias Puneeth and Ramprasad for alleged vehicle lifting and have recovered two cars and six bikes worth `10.5 lakh. The accused are involved in eight cases.The Malleswaram police have also arrested one Kishore Kumar for allegedly trying to sell ancient conchs and have seized 118 conchs worth `1.2 lakh from him.The Jalahalli police have arrested seven persons for allegedly robbing people on the pretext of dropping them and have recovered two cars, two bikes and an auto rickshaw worth `17.5 lakh and 350 gram of jewels worth `14.55 lakh. They were allegedly involved in six cases.The Vidyaranyapura police have arrested Govinda Swamy (25) and Obalesh (34), both inter-state robbers, and have recovered four vehicles worth `15 lakh.When the police were on the routine check, the duo came in a vehicle and tried to escape from police. But, the police arrested them after a chase.The R T Nagar police arrested six persons and recovered gold ornaments, ten vehicles and other valuables worth `11.40 lakh. The six persons were allegedly involved in 14 cases. Mahalakshmipuram police have arrested Diwakar Singh of Lucknow and have recovered a Toyota Fortuner and a Scorpio car worth `28 lakh from him.Juveniles wanted to make quick bucksIn connection with a theft case, the Srirampura police have arrested a juvenile offender aged 17 years.He allegedly committed theft at a house in Srirampura and stole cash `1.6 lakh.In that money, he bought a hookah from a shop on M G Road and used to smoke along with his friends.He is an SSLC dropout and committed theft to make easy money, the police said.Goods worth `1.07 lakh have been recovered from him.Meanwhile, Rajajinagar police have also arrested two juvenile offenders in connection with a theft case.
