Thirteen persons, including a woman, arrested by Q Branch police in Kundrathur on Saturday, for having suspected Naxal links, have been placed under judicial custody in Vellore Central Prison, on Sunday.
Sources said Palani (alias) Palani Manickam (55), Durai Singaravel (51), Baskar (40), Rafiq (27), Panneerselvam (34), Gunanathan (44), Murali Mohan (30), Kumarakuppan (61), Senkthil Kumar (42), Puviarasan (24), Suresh Kumar (26) and Mukhilan (30) were lodged in the Vellore Central Prison for Men, while Rahini (42) was lodged in the Special Prison for Women.
They were picked for inquiry from a private school, where they were having a secret meeting, on Saturday. They were booked under section 17 (1) of Criminal Law (Amendment) Act.
