THANJAVUR: As many as 12 passengers were injured when the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus in which they were travelling went out of control and fell into a pit on Tuesday morning. The driver and conductor of the bus were among those who were injured in the accident. According to the police, the bus was proceeding to Avarampatti from here when the mishap took place. When the bus was nearing the Kalimedu Kaataaru Bridge, the driver lost control over the vehicle when he swerved the bus to the edge of the road to avoid heaps of paddy spread on the road by some farmers. Immediately, the bus fell into a pit near the paddy field.All the injured were taken to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
