110 villages to get solar power

CHENNAI: Minister for Electricity R Viswanathan on Monday said that only 110 remote villages in hilly terrains were yet to get electricity connections and the CM had advised setting up of solar power systems in those places considering the practical difficulties in taking routine power connection lines to such places. He denied the stat ement of CPM member Dillibabu that more than 900 villages were yet to get power connections.
