Nandamuri Balakrishna returned to the screens through his much-awaited film Bhagavanth Kesari. The movie has received mixed reviews from the audience so far.
The film was released on Thursday, ahead of the festival of Dussehra. According to reports, Bhagavanth Kesari has managed to get satisfactory worldwide collections on the first day of its release. The film grossed around Rs 32 crore on its first day of global release. As per reports, the film was made on a budget of Rs 90 to 100 crore.
Compared to Nandamuri Balakrishna’s other films, Bhagavanth Kesari has made a better collection. In India alone, the film was able to collect Rs 20 crore, even after clashing with Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo. Over the weekend and the holidays, the film is expected to perform better. According to reports, the film had grossed around Rs 67.35 crore in pre-release business. The digital rights for the film have been reportedly bought by Amazon Prime Video.
On the day of its release, the film reportedly had an occupancy of 62.03 per cent. It recorded the most occupancy for night shows at 72.34 per cent. The film is not doing well in the US, even though it was expected to do well because of the great response Balakrishna’s Akhanda got in the country.
Bhagavanth Kesari is directed by Anil Ravipudi, and the producers are Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi. It is made under Shine Screen Productions. The cast of the film includes Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sreeleela, Kajal Aggarwal and Arjun Rampal, who is making his Telugu cinema debut with the film. The music in the film is given by Thaman S. Bhagavanth Kesari also marks his fourth collaboration with Nandamuri Balakrishna. They have previously worked in Dictator, Akhanda and Veera Simha Reddy.
The actor’s recent films like Akhanda which was released in 2021, had managed to gross Rs 29 crore globally on its first day and the 2023 film Veera Simha Reddy had collected around a whopping Rs 48 crore.
