- You can reply to both posts and comments on 4chan.
- To reply to a post, click the Post a Reply link at either the top or the bottom of the page.
- To reply to a comment, hover the number next to the poster's name and click Reply to this post.
Replying to a Post
Go to the post you wish to reply to. On the 4chan website, navigate to the post that you'd like to create a comment on.
Click Post a Reply. You'll see one of these links centered at the top of the page above the channel photo and another centered at the bottom of the page.
Fill out the information and complete the CAPTCHA. In the window that pops up, you'll be able to fill out your name ("Anonymous" or pen names are acceptable), choose options (like using your email for notifications), and enter your comment. Click Get Captcha to be able to fill the CAPTCHA field and continue. You can also click Choose File to attach an image file or GIF.
Click Post. If you've entered the CAPTCHA correctly, your comment will be posted on the thread. If not, you'll be prompted to try again.
Replying to a Comment
Go to the reply that you want to comment to. On the 4chan website, navigate to the thread with the reply that you want to comment on. Mouse over the number listed next to the poster's name, and you'll see pop-up text that reads "Reply to this post." This means that clicking the number will create a response to that reply.
Click the "No (1234567890)." After every comment is a "No." reference, like "No.123456789." When you click the number, a window will pop up with ">>" entered as well as that post's number, which means that post will be quoted in your reply.
