How to Manage iCloud Storage on PC or Mac
This wikiHow teaches you how to view your iCloud's storage status, and its breakdown by file categories, using an internet browser or iCloud's desktop app. You can also delete photos, videos, documents, or emails to quickly free up some storage space.
Steps

Using an Internet Browser to Delete Photos

Open iCloud in your internet browser. Type https://www.icloud.com into the address bar, and hit ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard. If you're not automatically logged in, enter your Apple ID and password to sign in to your online dashboard.

Click Settings on your iCloud dashboard. This option looks like a iPhone Settings App Icon icon next to the Find iPhone option. This will open your account settings.

View your iCloud storage status and breakdown under "Storage." Here, you can see how much space your Photos and Videos, Backup, Documents, Mail, and other categories take up, as well as your available free space.

Click the Settings drop-down on the top-left. You can find it next to the iCloud heading in the upper-left corner. It will open your menu panel.

Click Photos on the menu panel. This option looks like a colored pinwheel on a white background. This will open all your iCloud photos and videos. Alternatively, you can open Mail or iCloud Drive here, but generally, photos and videos take up the most space.

Select some photos and videos to delete. Click a photo or video to select it. Selected photos and videos will be outlined with blue. To select multiple photos or videos, hold down the ⌘ Cmd key on your Mac's keyboard, or Ctrl on Windows, and select all the items you want to delete.

Click the trash icon on the top-right. You can find it next to your name in the upper-right corner of the page. You will have to confirm your action in a new pop-up.

Click Delete in the confirmation window. This will permanently delete all the selected items from all your devices, and free up some storage space on your iCloud.

Using the Desktop App to Delete iCloud Backups

Click the Apple icon in the upper-left corner of the screen. On a Windows computer, click on the start menu in the lower left corner of the screen.

Select system preferences. If you're using a Windows computer you can skip this step.

Click on the iCloud app. The iCloud app looks like a iPhone iCloud icon in your Mac's System Preferences or on your PC's Start menu.

Find your iCloud storage status at the bottom. You can view a file breakdown of your iCloud storage at the bottom of the app window. You can see how much space Photos and Videos, Backup, and other categories take up.

Click the Manage button on the bottom-right. This button is located next to your storage information in the lower-right corner. It will open a list of all the file categories stored on iCloud.

Select Backups on the left menu. This will open a list of all your saved cloud backups on the right.

Select the backup you want to delete. Click on any backup on the list to select it.

Click the Delete button at the bottom. You can find this button in the lower-left corner of the backups list. You will have to confirm your action in a new pop-up.

Click the Delete button in the confirmation pop-up. This will confirm your action, and permanently delete the selected backup file from your iCloud.
