How to Get a Nuke in Warzone 2: Steps for Al Mazrah & Vondel
Originally introduced in the original Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty rewards its best players with the most powerful killstreak in the game: the tactical nuke. The tactical nuke has resurfaced in a handful of Call of Duty titles since the original MW2, and is included in Modern Warfare 2 (2022). However, nukes have now crossed the threshold from multiplayer into Warzone 2 with the Champion's Quest contract. While this isn't an easy feat to accomplish, with some practice and dedication you can achieve it. In this article we'll teach you how to get a nuke on both the Al Mazrah and Vondel maps, as well as let you know what rewards you can expect for getting a WZ2 nuke in Season 5.
Things You Should Know
  • You must win five consecutive matches to unlock the Champion's Quest contract, which is what allows you to build the nuke.
  • The process to build the nuke is the same in both Al Mazrah and Vondel, but the materials needed differ.
  • You must watch the full match credits in order for your nuke detonation to count as a win.

Al Mazrah

Win five consecutive matches of Warzone 2. In order to unlock the contract to get the nuke, you must win five matches of Warzone 2 in a row. You can do this in any mode, but each person on your team who has won five consecutive matches will get an attempt to detonate the nuke. Having a pre-made squad to attempt this contract may work best, as finishing the nuke contract requires a lot of teamwork and coordination.

Join your sixth Warzone match on Al Mazrah. Once you're in the match, a banner will appear on the screen that says the Champion's Quest is available.

Open your tac-map. On your tac-map, there will be three yellow WZ icons. If you go to one of these icons, the Champion's Quest will activate. The contract will appear under your mini map, and a loading bar will appear around the first circle.

Collect the first ingredient. Once the loading bar around the first circle is full, the location of the first element, Beryllium, will be shown to you on your tac-map with a yellow circle. Navigate to that area to collect the Beryllium. Once you collect the Beryllium, all other players on the map will see you marked with a gold Most Wanted crown.

Collect the second ingredient. Navigate to the second yellow circle on your tac-map to locate the Plutonium. After collecting the Plutonium, your character will suffer constant radiation damage, and any nearby teammates or enemies will as well.

Collect the third ingredient. Navigate to the third yellow circle on your tac-map to locate the Tritium. Once you have the Tritium, your radar will be scrambled similar to a counter UAV.

Navigate to the bomb site. After collecting the three ingredients, the bomb will drop. Make your way to the bomb site while dealing with the effects of the Beryllium, Plutonium, and Tritium.

Place the elements in the bomb. You must place each element into the nuke individually.

Defend the bomb for two minutes. Once you assemble the nuke, you must wait out a two minute countdown until it detonates. Everyone left in the match will be notified the nuke is armed, so you will have to defend against other players as you wait. It takes about 15 seconds to defuse the bomb, so if you manage to defend the nuke for just over 1 minute and 45 seconds, other teams won't be able to defuse it before it goes off.

Allow the match's credits to finish before exiting. In order for the win to count, you must allow the match credits to roll. Once you've finished the game with a nuke, you will get special rewards.

Vondel

Win five consecutive matches of Warzone 2. In order to unlock the contract to get the nuke, you must win five matches of Warzone 2 in a row. You can do this in any mode, but each person on your team who has won five consecutive matches will get an attempt to detonate the nuke. Having a pre-made squad to attempt this contract may work best, as finishing the nuke contract requires a lot of teamwork and coordination.

Join your sixth Warzone match on Vondel. With the addition of Vondel in Season 5, players are able to complete the Champion's Quest contract on the new map.

Once the loading bar around the first circle is full, the location of the first element, Gallium, will be shown to you on your tac-map with a yellow circle. Navigate to that area to collect the Gallium. Once you collect the Galilum, you and your squad will be highlighted for other players, similar to the effects of a snapshot grenade.

Collect the second ingredient. Navigate to the second yellow circle on your tac-map to locate the Deuterium. After collecting the Deuterium, your character will be fatigued and will cough while sprinting.

Collect the third ingredient. Navigate to the third yellow circle on your tac-map to locate the Neptunium. Once you have the Neptunium, you and any nearby players will randomly get shocked, similar to a shock stick tactical. This will also haywire vehicles.
